– Do Not Disturb –

Summary

What lies behind closed doors: secrets, passions, dreams about to become reality. Back in your suite in your favourite luxury hotel, a Night Model right beside you, you open a bottle of champagne…

Do Not Disturb is for those who let go. The night unfolds, and you’re a part of it. This is your soundtrack.

Days go by, nights become memories. Some moments last forever.

Do Not Disturb is an inspiration for those who seek a sweet distraction. For those who visit the most beautiful places. Live life to the fullest. Indulge in the night.

It’s just you. Back in your hotel suite. A gentleman with his enchanting companion right beside him. If there was no tomorrow, how you hard would you play tonight? Laugh, love, live?

For what it’s worth, you have tonight. Make the most of it.

Here are some thoughts on a couple of songs of the playlist.

We start with Cigarettes After Sex: «Do it with the lips that you kept when I finally kissed you». Greg Gonzalez’s soft voice initiates us into everything what lies ahead of us. X’s is the moment to say: Yeah, it’s happening. Longings hidden deep inside are about to come alive.

Your ideas, wishes, desires, fantasies. Embrace everything. Have you ever had the sensation when dreams were about to become reality? This sweet spot. Hot. Life can surprise you. Trust us, in this very moment, it’s even better than you imagined.

«If you’re gonna break my heart this is a good start» (Kiss It Off Me). They won’t necessarily break your heart, yet our Night Models will leave a trace for sure. And guess what, that’s how it’s supposed to be.

You’re living large, savouring an exquisite bottle of champagne or «sipping Château Lafite Rothschild» and you «don’t need Brazzers» (Dark Vacay). No more words needed. «We fucked so hot it left me faded» (You're All I Want). Here’s to you. Cheers!

Next is The Last Time, a collaboration between Taylor Swift and Gary Lightbody, the first song on this playlist not by Cigarettes After Sex.

After all, Cigarettes After Sex is pretty much everywhere on the Do Not Disturb playlist. It’s just because we genuinely adore their dreamy sound and their introspective lyrics conveying the romantic yet wild image Night Models is all about.

It  might not be your last time together, however, remember, it could. Who knows? So celebrate it with a blast! «No past, nowhere to hide

Just you and me».

«Stacks on deck, Patrón on ice

We can pop bottles all night

Baby, you can have whatever you like»

(Whatever you like), a laid-back new interpretation of T.I.‘s hit by Anya Marina.

Everything is possible, the night is yours.

Following another amazing artist. London Grammar. You hear Hannah Reid’s sublime voice performing Truth Is A Beautiful Thing:

«To hold your heart, to hold your hand

Would be to me the greatest thing».

Longing for someone’s affection is a beautiful thing. A Night Model in your arms, still strangers, and yet you’ll feel like you’ve known each other for a long time.

«I need that sweet life with its decadent ways», Silver Sable by Cigarettes After Sex. The two of you don’t care about conventions. Club sandwich at midnight? With Cristal champagne? A dip in the hotel pool at 2 a.m.? No need to judge. Do what you have to do.

We think a good song comes with an intriguing chorus, however, a great song bears a magic of its own – right from the beginning.

«You leapt from crumbling bridges watching cityscapes turn to dust

Filming helicopters crashing in the ocean from way above» (Apocalypse).

As change is inevitable, destruction and decay natural, this ballad delves into the evanescence of life. Eventually, everything fades. This is a vivid reminder to hold every moment dear. The Austrian dramatist Franz Grillparzer (1791 - 1872) wrote: «Moons and years pass by and are gone forever, but a beautiful moment shimmers through life a ray of light.»

An interlude by London Grammar takes us further into the night. An intimate introspective, a dreamy longing:

«Hmmm, your arms curled round my waist

Hmmm, there would be no better place» (Interlude – Live).

Come away with me. A Hideaway by Cigarettes After Sex. «And you put your arms around me». And Holding you, Holding me as in the subsequent title. Don’t these songs say all the same? In the variety of a million stars.

Soon, after two more atmospheric songs by the identical band, we delve into Innerbloom, a melodic masterpiece by RÜFÜS DU SOL an Australian indie group we highly recommend. Mesmerising vocals with a slow, deep beat.

«If you want me

If you need me

I'm yours».

Oh, these marking words. An intense manifesto of full devotion. There is something beautiful, something magical behind it all. The waking day is far away.  Daily life, tasks, projects, doesn’t matter. You exist in this moment. Lose yourself and find everything you ever wanted.

Next up, a classic, Purple Rain by Prince. Just enjoy. Then, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud:

«Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars

Place your head on my beating heart».

«I never thought we'd have a last kiss» (Last Kiss by Taylor Swift). Nothing lasts forever, in the end, the moment of your last kiss arrives. At least for now. You look back on a magical night you’ll never forget. Even if, as an international gentleman, you have seen the world.

Don’t Let Me Go. Cigarettes After Sex say it all: «Stay by my side». You bid farewell. When The Party’s Over, to borrow Billie Eilish’s words, there’s no reason to be sad. «I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that». You feel melancholic, yet overwhelmed, oddly alive, somewhat happy. It’s bittersweet.

To fade out, an instrumental version of All Time High, composed by John Barry, the theme song to the James Bond film Octopussy. Oh, those golden eras of Roger Moore and Sean Connery. «All I wanted was a sweet distraction for an hour or two». A couple hours, a night, a day, an extended vacay. The Night Models Experience. Gentlemen, we cannot relive the past. So it’s up to us to write the stories of tomorrow. The lightness of being. And unlike how Milan Kundera described it, it’s not at all unbearable. It’s everything you asked for. The night that unfolds… It’s all possible.
